Music:

I’m probably going to be evicted for blaring the new No doubt track on repeat day and night, but I could careless. I’m so pumped about their new cd that I’m organizing a Gwen Stefani party for all my fellow Gwenabees! I call ROCK STEADY GWEN!

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Strips

I know what you’re thinking, Christina said these were terrible. But listen guy’s she tried to use them while driving! After giving them a second chance we realized we both LOVE these bad boys. Not only do they have tons of adorable patterns but they also last days without chipping! They are also extremely easy to apply, even if you’re driving!

Fashion:

If boy’s can look good in bow ties than girls can look even better. The fact that i just realized you could pair a bowtie with almost any dress you own and have a perfect outfit is blowing my mind. I’m planning outings just to spend more of my time rockin’ a bow tie.

Song:

I love this song by Ellie Goulding! Every time I hear it, it makes me want to run and dance around in a huge field!

Beauty Product:

I have been using this for a while, and I just realized how important it is in my makeup routine. I probably lean on it a little too much, but I can’t help it. It really makes any makeup look 10 times better. (I may not act like it) But I do know that sparkles aren’t usually appropriate for every occasion, but with this super skinny applicator you can make it look really modest and not to new years eve-y.

Hair:

This last month Anna has been putting a bunch of different blonde highlights in my hair with the intention to eventually lighten it all the way blonde. Now it is finally the color I want and I have started using a lot of products with toner in them. I started using Its a 10 leave in conditioner a long time ago and I have ALWAYS loved it. It makes my hair feel so soft and never weighs it down or make it oily like other leave in conditioners do. Anyways this one is the same as the other its a 10 that I used in the past, but it has toner in it. After just one week of using it I could really tell a difference in my color. It looks a lot healthier and brighter. The moral of the story is: if you haven’t tried this wonderful product (that literally does everything) then go out there and get it!!!

Nails:

I am straight up OBSESSED with this color! Its called “Mod About You”. I can NEVER decide to go with white or pink for my pedicure. So finally OPI has answered my many prayers with this pastel white-ish pink . So now I am totally MOD about this color ;-)

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

Tuesday Tip of the Day: Clumpy Mascara?

Is your mascara getting way to clumpy way to soon? Well, fear no more! We have a solution to your problems! Saline Solution!

If you find that your mascara is getting thick and hard to apply and you don’t feel like spending your pennies on a whole new product then all you have to do is put a few drops of saline solution into your mascara and mix it around with your wand. This will break up the mascara and give it a smoother substance. However, you must be careful when putting it in. Try mixing it with every new drop you put in or else you will end up with liquid eyeliner and a really weird applicator to go with it.

Tuesday Tip of the Day: Big Beautiful Eyes!

Lets face it, we all weren’t born with big beautiful eyes like the Queen of perfect features: Angelina Jolie. However, just because we weren’t born with them doesn’t mean that we don’t deserve them!!! Here are a few tips that we love to use to make us look like doey-eyed angels. Also, feel free to leave some of your own tips and tricks in our comments!

Tip #1: White Eyeliner! I know you have heard us say this before, but we can’t stress it enough! Every girl should have this within her reach at all times! If you just apply it to your inner bottom lid you will not only look like an angel, but also it gives the illusion of a bigger/rounder eye. So if you don’t already have this in your collection, here is a great one that is super affordable!

Tip #2: BLEND BLEND BLEND BLEND BLEND! Make sure that when you are using more than one color you always spend enough time blending. eye shadow lines can be really distracting and take the focus away from the shape of your eyes. Make sure to invest in a good blending brush, and that doesn’t mean it has to be expensive! One of our favorite blending brushes we got was from Walgreen’s!

Tip #3: Mascara Tricks! When applying your favorite mascara, stroke the brush towards your nose. This will give your lashes a fuller look and also make your eyes appear wider!

Love

Make up DOS!

We bummed you out with our make up DONTS! Now it’s time to pump you up with our Summer 12′ DOS! Here are some looks we recommend everyone tries at least once.

#5. Glitter girls

Glitter will forever be questionable for some girls. We totally understand, you do not want to be associated with a stripper, who does? Glitter doesn’t have to be rubbed into your body with baby oil or sprayed it in your hair like a thirteen year old girl on her first trip to marine world without her mom. Blending a little sparkles over your eyeshadow or on your upper cheek bone is a great way to spice up a neutral look. Plus everyone secretly loves glitter, no matter how much they deny it. Who doesn’t want to reflect in the sun?

#4. Don’t be catty.

Almost every girl in the world has mastered her favorite black cat eye. As have we, but we’re bored ya’ll! I understand it’s your “statement” look, but mix it up. Try adding some color, switch your black liner with a teal! Hate color? Add a metallic gold or silver. Anything but a basic black line, it’s summer ladies. Woo us!

#3. Orange you lookin’ good!

Red lips are a classic look, that most of you doll’s can pull off. It’s also a look that’s been around since Marilyn Monroe was breakin’ hearts. Try swapping your bright red with a orange or coral! It’s summer time and we think your makeup should reflect how happy you are and how warm it is! Live dangerously, go orange.

#2. Whi-ner

Wearing white eyeliner is probably the smartest decision you will make of 2012. When used on the upper lid, the white attracts light and opens up the shape of your eye, whereas a black liner can make it look smaller. Applying, daily a 99 cent white Wet N’ Wild eyeliner, will change your life. Not only will your eyes look bigger, but you will look like a straight up angel at all times. That’s just a fact.

#1. Neon, come on!

We get it, a bright hot pink neon lipstick isn’t for everyone. Okay, we really don’t get it, because you guys probably didn’t even try it, you’re just assuming it doesn’t look good. Well you’re probably wrong. It’s shocking how good neon colors look on you. Maybe you all around hate lipstick, try a electric blue eyeliner, or hot pink blush instead! Not only will you look tanner, but everyone will have to stare at how good you look. Honestly, all the dark colors we see are bummin’ us out. Let’s all promise right here, right now we’ll wear at least one neon look this summer. Pinky promise? Pinky promise. Just try a hot pink or orange lipstick…. we bet you’ll like it.

Make up DONTS!

Christina and Anna here, bringing you our make up DONT YOU DARES! If you find any of these looks in your daily routine, you should probably rethink your regimen, or your life. Whatever comes first.

#5. Not blend-able

First off, why? If you’re going to go through all the effort of applying multiple eyeshadow colors, why not take the time to make them look good? Clearly Miss “Jerseylicious” Olivia Sharpe is heavy handed with her makeup applications. When blending try to have a light touch, and blend out where shadow looks heavy. No matter how long it takes to blend, it’s worth it. You don’t want to look like Olivia.

#4. Overly concealed

We’re sure when Eva Longoria left her house she had more of a “Natural highlight” look instead of a “Pocahontas on crack” look we see here. Putting on that much concealer with the papparazi on her tail is a rookie mistake. When being photographed keep the concealer minimal. However, if you like this look, then continue to use concealer as warpaint.

#3. D.T.M.(Doin’ too much) smokey eye

Let’s start off by saying we hate everything about this look. This smokey eye must have came straight from the flames of hell, because this is just God awful. Using black eyeshadow from your lid to all the way IN your eyebrows is not a good look for anyone. Tyra Banks’ awkward lipstick color and not filled in eyebrows just add on for the most perfect terrible look we have seen in awhile.

#2. Pencil thin eyebrows

Filling in your eyebrows with a pencil is completely acceptable! Shaving your natural eyebrows off to use a pencil to draw them on, is one of the grossest things we have ever seen. But then again, Christina Aguilera never fails at making us feel uncomfortable. Whether she’s wearing bootyless chaps or rocking an afro bigger than her whole body, she seems to be a shoe-in for every top 5 DONT we ever make. Ladies, please keep your beautiful eyebrows. Maintain them weekly and fill them in with pencil or shadow. Don’t be weird.

#1. Hola Chola

Wearing a lip liner darker than your lipstick will only end with you looking like a chola or sleazy former playmate now rockin Hepatitis C. If you don’t feel confident in your lip liner matching decisions we recommend using a colorless lip liner. Colorless lip liner’s will help your lip stick not feather outside your lip-line. It will also help you not look like Pamela Anderson, which should be a life goal for all of us.

Tuesday Tip of the Day : Quickly Drying your Nails

I am sure we all have just finished painting our nails only to realize you need to go change your jeans, tie your shoes,  or text about how crazy Theresa Guidice is,  AND all of those things can ruin a fresh manicure! Fear no more! we have a tip here that will dry your manicure in about 30 seconds. COLD WATER! There are a couple ways you can do  this.

After letting your nails air dry for about a minute, dip your nails into cold water and keep them in there for at least 30 seconds (the longer you keep them in there the better). The cold water will freeze dry your polish making it harden and look perfectly finished! If you are in a serious rush, you can also get the same effect by running your manicure under cold water in a sink.

Save Vs. Splurge : Primer

Benefit “That Gal” Face Primer vs. Lo’real’s Studio Secret Professional Primer
($29.00)
Pros:
  • Brighten’s skin tone.
  • Goes on smooth.
  • Helps give you a natural glow.
Cons:
  • Doesn’t last throughout the day.
  • The tube will only last you a month tops (Theirs only 0.37 ounces of primer in that tube!)
  • Not recommended for oily skin. It leaves an unpleasant shine.
  • Only use-able for people with fair skin.
($5.00-$10.00 depending on the size)
Pros:
  • Helps pores appear smaller (What’s up dry skinned ladies!).
  • Goes on smoothly.
  • Keeps makeup immovable all day.
  • Accessible at any local drug store, so you don’t have to search for a Macy’s or Sephora near you.
  • Evens out skin color, which means you use less foundation.
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines.
  • It’s a thicker primer. Which means you typically use less, leaving you with more product at the end of the month. #SAVEDPENNIES
Cons:
  • Not recommended for girls rockin’ mineral powder foundation. It tends to clump up.
  • Not helpful for redness or blotchy skin.
Basically if you can read, you can clearly see the winner this month is:
SAVE!
Don’t waste your money on this NO benefits Benefit Primer.  It costs twice as much as the L’oreal Studio Secrets Primer! Take that $20.00 and go hit up Victoria Secret’s 5 for $20.00 panty bin! Or buy gas, whatever.
